There are over 1,300 miles of streets in San Francisco and Rickey Gates thought he could learn the city better by running every single one. 47 days later, did he find what he was looking for?
After finishing a 3,000 mile run across the US, Rickey Gates had a strange feeling that he’d missed something. His route showed him a super thin slice of the country and left him with more questions than answers. He had ended in San Francisco, so for his next adventure he decided to run every single street in the city.
“I thought it would be interesting to turn it into a project and treat it similarly to someone who is going after say the Appalachian Trail or the Pacific Crest Trail and dedicate myself to it. You know 8, 10, 12 hours a day. And do it all in one go,” Rickey said.
